ETHANOL ALCOHOL FUEL TEST KIT
Tests fuel for alcohol - ethanol) content %.
Re-usable. Simple. Easy. Accurate. Fast!
Simple, easy, inexpensive. DIRECTIONS: Mix small amount water and fuel from pump or tank into the test tube included (test tube has markings at level of gas and water to be added); Shake to mix the contents. Wait a few minutes until settled. An increase in the amount of water on the gauge indicates the exact percentage of alcohol present in the fuel.
Caution: Fuel that tests greater than 10 % alcohol (legal limit for E10 gasoline) is dangerous and should not be used in conventional engines.
More Information: Some motors (airplanes and certain marine engines) can NOT use any fuels that contain alcohol/ethanol/methanol.
Only motors designed for over 10%alcohol fuel content (ie. "Hybrid, Flex-Fuel or Green" Cars) designed to run on E85 (85 % ethanol) can withstand high alcohol content
Many states still do NOT label gas pump when ethanol/alcohol is added! Therefore, do not assume gas does not contain ethanol - Also many public pumps tested, have unfortunately revealed ethanol contents above the legal limit...Testing the gas everytime you re-fill will give you the assurance and peace-of-mind that your engine is running on a correct and safe level of ethanol-blend gasoline.
We also advise periodic testing of fuel present in tank, to monitor if gas has become water-contaminated and phase separated. Contact The Outboard Wizard or Fuel-Testers for assistance in methods to check gas from engine's fuel tank directly.
Check with your motor manufacturer and/or engine owners/operators manual for specific fuel recommendations.
Kit includes directions and instructions/literature on ethanol risks, dangers and precautions.
Test kit recommended for all gas-powered engines including boat motors, airplanes, auto, leaded, unleaded, diseal fuel, all octanes (87, 89, 91, 93 etc.).
